Why is it good to maintain a relationship with other bloggers?

by Derek on March 17, 2009

Appreciating fellow bloggers is something that you should definitely consider if you are starting now with your new blog. It may sound weird to you, but when you are blogging, you are not alone. There is an entire community of bloggers out there who need your support so as to support you back. Maintaining good relationships with other bloggers can prove really beneficial to you, so you shouldn’t underestimate it:

relationships

1. Blogging community is not a self service option. You can belong to a community that can teach you how to become a better blogger. There are many people who have been doing that much more time than you, thus they can give you valuable tips and hints on how to ameliorate your blog, how to enhance its visibility and how to produce a gripping and informative content. Fellow bloggers can give you all the necessary insight in technical aspects as well.

2. If you maintain a relationship through comments and notes, writing on other people’s blogs, you invite them to do the same. This means that your blog can have more readers and potentially much more traffic.

3. Other bloggers who like your blog can send you traffic: there are many blogs that direct traffic to other blogs, adding the URL on the side. If the blogger appreciates you and the way you write will definitely link to you. This translates to more links and back links for your blog page.

4. Blogging is a give and take venue. If you agree to send visitors to someone’s blog, he will do the same, as bloggers tend to support each other. If you are less selfish, bloggers will definitely appreciate that. Don’t forget that the other bloggers are also potential clients. If you are a nice and laid back person, writing informative posts, they might do business with you as well.

5. Bloggers are people who seek recognition. If you offer it to them they will support you as well. Bloggers know when you are leaving a quality message and when you are link baiting, so try to be honest and build a rapport.

6. If you maintain a good relationship with other bloggers and you offer quality content, chances are that they will talk about you. Even if they don’t link to your blog at the beginning, the viral effect can be truly beneficial to you, as it can bring you loads of traffic.
