Free unlimited image hosting

by Ali Hussain on August 10, 2008

This time round, i am reviewing a website called Imagesplace.net.

There are millions or even billions of people uploading images everyday. Whether you are surfing the forums, browsing through facebook or myspace, you see images everywhere. With such a demand, many image hosting start ups are created daily. When i recevied the message to review this particular image hosting site, what comes to my mind immediately is, what makes this image hosting site different from the others ( imageshack, photobucket etc)?

Okay, Let’s us see some of the features in Imagesplace.net.

No User Registration Needed

Yes, this is one feature that everyone wants, No registration!

Free unlimited image hosting

At imageplace.net, you can upload unlimited amount of images. There’s no limit at all! However, there are a filesize limit of 5mb per image. But who cares, it’s free unlimited image hosting afterall!

Add more Field Feature

You can add to to 15 fields for uploading at once. This is a pretty cool feature considering if you are to upload bulk images at once

One Click Upload Feature

Like many other image hosting sites out there, there are options to allow users to choose whether they want to upload one image or multiple images at a time. However, the one click upload feature of Imageplace.net is pretty cool. With the use of ajax technology, it makes uploading images feels so easy and fast. It only takes 1.5 secs for me for uploading one image and that is definitely a plus.

One of the best(unique) feature of the site is the “one click upload”, you can select up to 100 images at a time and the images will be “queued”, you can also cancel at anytime without having to upload the whole lot again.

Copying Code with just one click

You can copy all of the forum, website or direct link codes with one click, so let’s say you just done uploading 20 images and you want to post them to forums, you don’t need to click “copy and paste” 20 times because of “copy all” button. This feature is really timesaving and is lacking from other image hosting sites out there.

Design / Feel of the site

When i first visit this site, the design definitely caught my eye. It give me a pleasant and smoothing feel and most importantly, it is not bombarded with advertisements or pop ups like what many image hosting sites do. It’s nice, simple and clean.

Fast Speed

Uploading speed is incredibly fast. Just around 1.5 secs for one image. i find uploading images to imagesplace.net alot faster than imageshack. The folks of imagesplace have definitely invested a certain amount of money into the servers. But the question is, can the uploading speed remains when the site gets bigger? Lets see.

The Nerdy Freak’s Critics

In every review, i will give critics and point out faults to help the owner to improve the site. That’s the main purpose of having a review, nothing is perfect in this world.

1) First thing that i would like to point out is the logo. It shows a human like figure sitting and leaning against the image word. Yes, we can see that the figure represent the ” i ” of the image word, but what does that have to do with imagesplace.net? No link at all? What i would suggest is to change that figure to something like a “hand palm” or what. Something to do with placing images. That will establish more link to the name of the site.

2) It will be perfect if more image extensions are allowed. Or even swf file.

Other than that, i guess there’s nothing much i can pick on. Layout is nice simple and neat. No overwhelming ads. Server speed is fast. Conclusion, i will be using imagesplace.net, unlimited image hosting service in future. :) It’s a pretty good image hosting site with potential. If you guys have any more comments or suggestions about imagesplace.net, just drop an comment here to let the owner see.

Others may allow you to upload smaller images for free, but may charge to upload larger pictures.
