There are a wide variety of features offered for Windows Reseller Hosting services to help them increase their margins by attracting more clients. Most of the resellers charge their end clients on the basis of the disk space allocated to them, the total data transfer allowed per month, the number of hosting domains provided for the websites of the clients and the MySql databases at their disposal. The Control panel provided to the reseller service providers helps them manage the live accounts and optimize the disk space and bandwidth usage.

The most important utility features available to the resellers include a smart mail system, customization of web folders and a file manager which is web-based, custom error pages, password protected folders and most importantly admin support for PHP and MySQL databases. The windows Reseller Hosting service providers also get a resilient anti-spam mailing service and a tried and tested anti-virus for the shared servers. The windows reseller hosting services packages also have unlimited sub-domains in the internet, unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited file transfer protocol and email accounts. Powerful Quad-core Intel Xeon or High Speed Dual Core servers are usually available for higher performance.

Windows Reseller Hosting services also have 24 X 7 support enabled for C#, ASP.NET, AJAX, Perl, CGI and many other scripting languages. The servers are robust and the platforms include.NTE framework version 2, 3 and 3.5. The databases also have unlimited incremental backup to protect the data loaded into the databases. Additional backup and restore features can be enabled at additional costs too. One GB of bandwidth per month usually costs up to a dollar, so reseller services can always go for over the limit reselling if there is a high demand for web hosting from clients. HTML design tool, reseller control panel and user control panel, along with sophisticated and efficient file managers are provided as extra add-ons for the hosting. The reseller hosting services usually have powerful servers with their own well serviced data centers. The internet support comes from connection ranging from 50 – 80 GBps high speed internet supplied by the best internet service providers. The MS SQL hosting services are slightly more expensive supported by the windows 2003 standard edition.

Themes? Just what are we talking about here, a blog theme? Web site theme? Social network page theme? What, exactly?

If you have a page on the web and that page is owned by you, or represents you, you can present a “theme” coupled with the content. This will separate you from the masses and provide some stamp of uniqueness that represents you, or what you are trying to convey.

Now that you have decided that a theme is something that you want. You have the choice of a free theme, or a customized theme. A free theme, of course, is just that, free, and usually comes with the web page, or site you are dealing with. It will be limited in scope and will vary from single color backgrounds to multi-colored backgrounds, but it usually stops there. It may be quite sufficient for you and you need not look any further to get added impact. In fact there are some rich, and warm colors with free themes and you might want to stay with something simple. This will depend on the type of page the theme is going on.

If the page is very shallow in terms of showing the theme, then you do not need to be elaborate. If there is a dearth of space that needs to be filled up, or your entire page background is covered, then you might want to consider something with a little more pizzazz, a little more artistic flair. This you will get from a customized theme.

Now, not all customized themes are created equal. You might only get a choice from a limited package. A theme might be just a “skin”, or it might be more involved and provide buttons, motions and secondary actions when hitting links for instance. So it pays to shop around and look for the best choices based on the theme you are trying to project.

You will almost certainly have the choice of many customized themes when you make your decision.

A contributing actor when making the decision for free or customized is obviously price. A free theme is just that, no cost, and there are a lot of nice free themes available. Some are equal to, or better than premium price themes. For custom, or premium themes, you will get a multitude of choices ranging from a few dollars up to $100. You have to decide whether it is worth paying the premium, and that decision will be based on the audience you want to keep once they get to your site. Premium themes will generally give a clean and more professional look and will likely provide more functionality. The theme developer will usually be able to support the theme, especially the higher price ones. So although there is a cost involved, it may dividends to have that extra professionalism and functionality.

Make your decision based on your need. Don’t throw money away, but neither shy away from paying for a very professional look and feel. You are presenting yourself, your company, or an idea to a global audience. Make it look good and give the visitor a great experience!

Have you ever come across any popular websites and curious about which hosting it is using? Yes, most of you will of course, go to whois.net (most well known engine) and check the hosting whois details of that particular website. But today, i am going to introduce you another lightweight and richly-feature whois search engine that will definitely has the potential to rival it’s compeititors.

WhoisHostingThis.com is a whois search engine developed to help users to check for whois details. Of course, an application exists because there is a demand for it. One of the most common reason of why people check for whois details is to research and evaluate their competitors. With this whois function, one can easily find out which hosting that particular website is using, the ip address etc.

Below is a screenshot illustrating the results i get for searching this blog’s whois details with WhoIsHostingThis.

As you can see from the screenshot above, everytime you search, a thumbnail is generated, giving you a preview of how the website look like without actually browsing over to that url. Also, a brief description of the hosting company is displayed relatively with the results.

However, if you suspect that the given information is inaccurate, as a user, you are given this “report this” feature to file a data correction. The WhoIsHostingThis team will then evaluate the details and check out the respective data.

One thing that i really like about WhoIsHostingThis is the ability to display hosting reviews. As you know, reviews is the most important thing where webmasters look upon to before engaging any services online. I believe this is the smartest thing to do online. This feature that is implemented really solved alot of our time! How? Normally, we have to check the whois information and then research in google regarding that company. BUT NOW, with WhoIsHostingThis, you can do this process with just a single click! It really saves alot of your researching effort right?

Accompanying this feature is another cool and useful feature that allows users to search for hosting coupons. If you decided to sign up for that hosting company, you can click on the coupons that will inturn allows you to purchase the services at a discounted rates.

I believe you all are now very impressed with this 3-in-one ( whois details engine), and can’t wait to check it out! Am i right?

Creating a website for your business is becoming increasingly popular today; many people consider it to be a popular way to make money online. However before actually setting up an online business, you need to research your niche carefully, because this is the key to your success.

A good research upfront can help you establish a good name and a great website.

Here are some tips to Research Your Niche

Do competitive research: If you already know the product or service you want to market and sell, you need to make sure that you know what your competitors are doing. It is advised to choose a niche with the least possible competition; however you need to find out what makes them successful. Something that works for them can work for you too, so do not underestimate others’ tips.

Find the best marketing plan for the niche; again some competitive research is mandatory. If the niche industry has its own secrets, you should be aware of that before starting up. Is the niche marketed better through a direct approach? Is the referral system working well in this case? Do you need to focus on public and social media?

Evaluate and understand the financial part of the niche. The fact that you have chosen a niche doesn’t mean you cannot go more or less specific; for instance, if your website refers to consultation, you need to define the kind. Some kinds are more lucrative, while some others are less. If you know the economics of the market you can focus on the product and choose the best possible marketing strategy for it.

Make sure that you are choosing the right product. If you are opting for a website that doesn’t exist yet, try to figure out why. Is it because it’s not lucrative? Have others tried it and failed? What is the true target market?

Try to get involved in forums and boards about your niche. If you participate in groups like that, you will find out what people think about the niche. You might get some good ideas on how to promote or build your website.

Spend some time trying to figure out what people want. Why would they buy your product? What are their expectations? Ask questions and try to find out how this niche could be more profitable for you. This way you can generate interest in your niche and website and also find out important tips for your website.

Update on the niche series

Web site owners put up websites for all sort of reasons; some of them want to create a home based business and use the website as a revenue source, while some others want to make themselves known and maybe get their opinion across the target audience. Whatever the reason truly is, at some point they might need to sell their website.

This is not always as easy as it sounds, unless you follow some guidelines. It can be a very crucial and important business decision so you need to make sure that you know what you are doing and that you have actually sold it for the right price.

Determine your website’s value. You cannot sell your website without knowing its values. An accurate evaluation could be the sum of personal opinion and objective characteristics. Most users and website owners sell their website for ten times the net profit, although this is something that could be controversial and too simplistic. You need to estimate the value using different characteristics. For instance the domain name, the size, the exposure, visibility and rankings. The customer list and leads base is also something you can include in your estimate.

Evaluate the branding status of your website. A well known brand name can sell for more. If your site is getting some attention from media, then it is obviously popular – or has the potential to become more popular. Make sure that you calculate that too.

Find the right place for the sale. There are numerous online venues where websites are being sold today; among them are eBay and several websites owned by Website Brokers. You can determine how and where you want to sell your website. A broker might get better prices for you, but he will require his commission, so maybe eBay could be a great chance for you.

Find your statistics. People who will be interested in your website will probably like to take a look at your statistics and Page Rank or other technical details, so you need to be prepared. Make a list of unique visitors per week or per month, the bandwidth used and the revenue statistics.

Be honest and objective, especially if you have created a good website. This can help you acquire a better price and attract more dependable and reliable buyers. You will avoid many scammers if you are well prepared.

I would urge you all to follow this guidelines and if you managed to sell your website, don’t forget to come back here and thank me.

If you do not want to waste time of your visitors then remove these pages that Welcome to say: “You came to my company’s web, press the button to enter”, the same can be said of those home pages that only show the flags of the languages of the portal. Each of these pages is an obstacle to its visitors.

Promoting Discussion Groups and Creating a Community

Many experts agree that the Web portals that have the greatest success in their businesses will be those capable of creating community. If a visitor feels as a part of a Web portal then it is the best way to get good customers and prescribers. People do business with people they know and trust.

Blogs and forums are becoming a major magnet for Web traffic, in a host of opinions and collector of loyal visitors. When a visitor is identified with the subject of a forum or blog, said visitor repeated visits with the aim of seeing the new “posts” or “entries” from the portal.

Attract Subscribers to remind them to Re-visit

For those visitors who have forgotten them back to your Web site what it is advisable to design email marketing campaigns. A portion of the visitors arriving for the first time a Web might want to subscribe to a newsletter or bulletin news portal. Portal is easy and adds a button on your Web so that your visitors can subscribe to the database portal for sending back information.

Another proportion of visitors are often underwritten platforms for content syndication RSS consult daily where the new content of their favorite websites. Give him a chance to this growing user group can add your Web page to your list of syndication. Design your news or articles in an alternative format in XML so they can be syndicated. Do not forget to add a button on his website indicating that their contents can actually be seen through a system of RSS content syndication.

Surveys: Encouraging Participation in your Website

The surveys encourage Web traffic. Both users who fill up as the users who want to see the results, the subject of the survey is always an interesting hook to increase repeat visits. It is advised that any inquiry is related to the theme of the page, which has a connection with a controversial subject or where you can easily set up a debate, and that of course can see the results in real time.

Conclusion: Taking an Iron Discipline

Behind a Web site that gets large doses of repeat visits, is a strategy for efficient management of content where a strict discipline is the primary value to follow. If you decide that week will publish new content, then you have to be consistent with that level of frequency and you will be giving the message to visitors that the website has new things every week.

I’m sure you’ve heard this before: “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail“. Although it’s a cliché, it is still very relevant today. As with anything, a good online business venture needs a good plan. If you already have a business you should have already made a business plan and if you’re deciding on going into an internet business you should do a business plan. Either way a web plan will help you focus on your goals for your site and give you a guideline of how to implement those goals.

The following is an outline of a simple online business plan. If you are planning on getting financial support for your site with a bank loan or investment you may want to use a more complex version, even spend the money to get a professional to help you out.

Outline of a web plan

1. Introduction and Description of your site - Give an overview of your site, what will it do?

2. Purpose of the site – What is the sites product or service, what purpose does it serve?

3. Your sites market – Who will your visitors be. What will they be looking for. What characteristics do they have.

4. Competition – Who will you be competing against, how will you deal with this.

5. Marketing – How will you promote your site

6. Development – How will you set up your site, who will take care of each step, who, if anyone will you hire, what support will you need?

7. Management – How will you manage your site, will you outsource?

8. Financial data – What will your expenses and estimated income be

Selling a website is probably the same as selling any other things that you could have thought of. The golden rule is just “to convince” that your website is worth that price that you are selling for. I could still remember that time when i sold my first website, which is a couple of years ago, i was totally a noob. I knew nuts about how to get buyers, how to price it, and most importantly, how to convince the potential buyers to buy your website. In this blog post today, i will be sharing some of my experiences in the process of selling a website and i hope this post will eventually helps some of you out there.

There are many reasons why people sell their website. Here’s a couple of common reasons.

They are tired of the website niche. ( No interest)

Their main objective of creating a website is to sell it when it’s established. ( To make money )

They may be in need of funds urgently for personal or business purposes.

They have no time to manage the website, may be due to reasons like studying, exams, work.

So assuming that you want to sell your website. The very first thing that you should do, is to work out your target. How much do you want your website to be sold? Are you making a profit from your investment. Some factors that determine the worth of your website consist of,

Current google pagerank

Number of quality backlinks ( Check yahoo site explorer)

Alexa Ranking ( This tool is crap, but you can use it to determine the number of traffic. If a website has thousands of unique daily and has a alexa ranking of 20 million, you know something is wrong.

The amount of traffic the site gets monthly.

The amount of revenue generated from the website.

The type and niche of website.

How revenue is earned from the website.

Is the website using a custom developed/ designed script?

The SERPS of the website. Is the website ranked highly for certain market keywords?

Level of particpation of the users.

More..

I would recommend you to document all the above information in advance before selling your website. All these information are the common questions probably from potential buyers and will really save you ton lots of time. However, please set realistic goals. If you have a website that is making $50 monthly, try not to set your target selling price to $1000, 000. Who will probably buy it? Unless you have the “WOW” factor in it.

After determining the worth of your website, the next step that you do is to set your starting bid, the bin and reserve price, increment bid. If you do not know the above terms, do not panick.

Below is the definition.

Starting / Minimum Bid – The start bid to get the auction going on. So let’s say your starting bid is $100, buyers will have start the bid from $100 minimum.

BIN – Short term for ” Buy it now”, i am sure no other explanation is needed.

Reserve Price - This is the price set to protect the sellers. This means that the seller will not sell the website till the reserve is met. So imagine your reserve is $2000, after the auction ends, the highest bid that you get is $1000, so reserve price is not met and you can chose not to sell your website.

Increment Bid - If the increment bid is set to $50, the first buyer bid $100, the next buyer will have to bid $150 ( increase by $50) and so on.

Getting proof of the metrics of the website is also another neccessary thing that you should do if you are serious about selling your website. You could have say your website makes $500000 per month, but how do the seller know? Getting the metrics documented is to “convince” the buyers. Remember, the key factor to sell a thing is “to convince”.

So now you have all the necessary things ready. The next step is just to list your website to get potential buyers. There are many places that you can sell your website, i would recommend digitalpoint.com and sitepoint.com. You can try other methods also, such as emailing competitors website. For example, If you are selling a hosting business, bigger players will be interested to buy your business to increase their client’s base.

Next, just sit back and wait for bids. If the website you selling has good metrics, i am pretty sure you would get bids coming in. The last thing that you will worry about will most probably be the payment methods.

Paypal ( Would recommend for transaction below $3,000. Fees are expensive for big transaction).

Check / Wire transfer

Moneybookers

Western Union

Escrow.

I hope this post give you a heads up on selling a website, and if you sell a website following the tips successfully, be sure to email to tell me so.

If you make a visit to those popular webmaster forums like digitalpoint, sitepoint, namepros, you will most probably see a buy/sell/trade section. And that’s good! Webmasters like us love those sections because it is very possible to earn an income from there. Of course, by selling and buying websites. If you have been into “webmastering” for some period, there will be a time where you have to make a choice whether is it wise to start a website from scatch or to buy a website that is already established with income monthly. And that’s is the main point that i will be sharing my experiences in this particular post.

Like any developers and webdesigners out there, i always have the same mentality as them. Why buy a website while i can develop it myself? Why spend the unneccessary money? However, think about again. I could develop a similar website, but can i make sure that it makes the same amount of income? The point that i am trying to emphasize is webmastering is not just about being able to develop out the website. There are also many factors such as being able to monetize the website, being able to market it effectively etc. For me, there are certain circumstances where i would make my decision whether to start a website from scratch or to buy an established one.

Times where i buy an established website.

When the website is making a stable flow of income monthly.

When the website got all the features that i want.

Where metrics of the website is good.

Mostly importantly, when i have the budget.

Times where i start a website from scratch.

When i have a unique idea where none other websites are in the similar niche.

That’s all!

So as you can see, i would recommend you to buy an established website that is already making money than to start a website from scratch. What is the point of starting it from zero while you can start it at maybe “two” or “three”? For example, you wanted to start a tutorial website to earn money from it as you see most of your friends are earning from that niche. You surfed sitepoint and you came across a thread whereby a seller is selling his already established tutorial website ( making $100 monthly ). The price is within your budget. So, why not buy it? Save you the time from developing it while you can spent the time to do other things to probably doubled your income?

Many people don’t buy websites because they are afraid not being able to recoup their purchase expenses. Do not think that way! Recently, about 2 months ago, i just bought a neglected blog for $260 usd. Metrics of that blog are considered normal. I take couple of hours to improve the look of the blog, to do some seo tweaking, and to monetize it. Currently, that blog earns around $60 usd monthly. ( $20 passive income from link sales + remaining $30 from reviews, blogpost + $10 from adsense ) I bought the blog at $260, which means i already make back around 50% of what i invested in 2 months. And if i were to sell that blog now, i am pretty sure i can get $600 for it. ( 10 months income). Do your maths, is it profiting?

If you are interested in knowing the url of the blog, you can email me. Yeah, suggestions and comments for this blog is greatly welcomed and encouraged.

To boost the particpation level of this post, i will be giving away free $10 paypal to the best comment reply relating to this post. ( Input your paypal email when submitting a reply ) You can give your views about today’s topic, what you agree or disagree? Add on information blah blah blah. This will end at 16th October 2008. Hurray.
